Claim Counts and Costs by Part, Nature and Cause of Injury

id1

PCRB produces detailed tabulations of workers’ compensation claims reported under commercial policies in Pennsylvania for selected policy years. These tabulations summarize reported claim counts and incurred loss amounts using the standardized accident description codes required for statistical reporting: Part of Body, Nature of Injury, and Cause of Accident.

To illustrate the depth of available data, sample summaries highlight the accident descriptions associated with the highest claim volumes and the largest reported incurred losses. Loss amounts reflect case-based reporting valued 18 months after policy inception. Complete tabulations include approximately 13,500 accident description entries representing more than 163,000 reported accidents and are available upon request through PCRB Central Support at centralsupport@pcrb.com. .
